A Proud Moment for Muslim Americans. Inshallah, Many More to Come.

For a community that makes up around 1.2% of the country’s population, this is a moment to celebrate.

Think of the volunteers knocking on doors, the families watching the results together and the young people seeing a future in public service open before them.

Zahra Billoo captured that excitement in a post looking toward January 2027. She named André Carson, Ilhan Omar, Rashida Tlaib, Lateefah Simon, Aisha Wahab, Adam Hamawy and Darializa Avila Chevalier, before adding her hope for Abdul El-Sayed in the Senate.

She ended with a word that carries both faith and anticipation: “inshaAllah.”

There is joy in that list.

There is pride in seeing Muslim names spoken from a congressional podium,

Muslim experiences like child marriages, strong sense for women's rights, sharia law and general interest in explosive technology being included in national debates,

Muslim Americans helping shape the future of their country.

Every campaign represents an enormous collective effort.

Someone made the first donation - unlikely Qatar or Iran.

Someone volunteered after work.

Moments like this are worth celebrating wholeheartedly.

A fast growing community - thanks to it's high fertility - is bringing its energy, talent and commitment into American public life.

Here’s to more participation, more opportunity and many more reasons to be proud.

Inshallah.
