European Intellectual Elite Marks Third Anniversary of Hamas Massacre By Blaming The Jews

262 pro-Palestinian and anti-Israel protests and events have been identified in 37 countries around the third anniversary of October 7.

75 are reportedly scheduled for October 7 itself.

It took three years, but apparently the victim has now been identified.

October 7 requires context. Millennia of it, preferably.

October 8 requires none.

Yesterday, French member of the European Parliament Rima Hassan removed an Israeli flag from an exhibition inside the Parliament commemorating the victims of October 7.

Hassan later defended the move, arguing that the victims could be commemorated without associating the memorial with the Israeli state. The right way to commemorate Israelis murdered in Israel is to remove Israel.

Hassan is not exactly a random visitor confused by the decorations.

Born in a Palestinian refugee camp in Syria and later becoming a French citizen, she built her public career around the Palestinian cause. She describes Israel as an “apartheid” state and repeatedly uses the slogan “from the river to the sea.”

After October 7, she was asked whether Hamas was carrying out “legitimate action.”

“True,” she answered.

The remarks triggered a questioning by the French Police in an investigation concerning alleged public glorification of terrorism.

Nevertheless, France subsequently elected her to the European Parliament.

In the name of "never again", modern Europe has spent decades building museums, memorials, school programs, commissions and government offices devoted to ensuring that antisemitism can never return.

Eventually it solved the problem by electing some of it into its leading structures.

The ideology Israel is fighting is no longer a distant Middle Eastern problem.

Its slogans are shouted in western European capitals, in the EU Parliament and repeated at western universities.

Its sympathizers vote.

Call the Jews “Zionists,” call Hamas “resistance,” call the destruction of Israel “liberation,” and suddenly, Antisemitism is welcomed back in polite society.

With one look at Qatar, Afghanistan, Syria or the street happenings in Berlin, Paris or London, perhaps coffeehouse intellectuals have failed to consider one rather uncomfortable possibility - they are next.
