FRANCE | Young Soccer Fans Throw a Party in Paris

A spectacular column of black smoke you could see from Le Bourget, a few dozen cars and scooters transformed into Olympic torches, and the West apparently having a bit of a moment on X.

According to locals, it kicked off around 11:30pm.

The Eiffel Tower, tastefully lit up in PSG blue and red, looked magnificent.

The young crowd – diverse, energetic, full of that famous Parisian joie de vivre – really got into the spirit.

Burning bins, fireworks launched like it was New Year’s Eve in Beirut, and the occasional heartfelt “Allahu Akbar” ringing out across the Trocadéro.

Social media, of course, lost its mind, with some overly dramatic posters calling it “the Great Replacement live” or “Europe’s farewell party.”

President Macron is due to speak later, expected to praise “the beautiful energy of our young people” and remind everyone that diversity isn’t just a slogan.

The party must always go on.
