CERN Enters Long Shutdown 3; Staff Reminded To Close All Portals Before Leaving

After the Large Hadron Collider completed its final physics run on 29 June, CERN has entered Long Shutdown 3, the planned multi-year upgrade that will turn the LHC into the High-Luminosity LHC and, according to officials, leave no active interdimensional portals behind in the workplace.

CERN Enters Long Shutdown 3; Staff Reminded To Close All Portals Before Leaving

Geneva, 1 July 2026 - The European Organisation for Nuclear Research has begun Long Shutdown 3 following the end of Run 3 at the Large Hadron Collider.

The shutdown will last several years and will involve one of the largest interventions in the history of the accelerator, including the removal and replacement of around 1.2 kilometres of magnets and components inside the ring.

The upgrade is part of the High-Luminosity LHC project, which is expected to increase the collider’s luminosity by up to a factor of ten. This will allow researchers to collect much larger datasets, study the Higgs boson in greater detail, and continue the traditional scientific practice of asking the universe what it is hiding, then pretending to be surprised when the answer requires more funding and more magnets.

CERN says the schedule has been public for years. Adjustments announced in 2024 extended Run 3 and moved the start of the High-Luminosity LHC era to 2030.

Officials stressed that the shutdown is a planned engineering and maintenance programme, not a reaction to any unreported anomaly, unexplained resonance, missing night-shift technician, or internal memo marked “do not open near the Shiva statue.”

The Meyrin site does feature a bronze statue of Shiva Nataraja, donated by India in 2004.

CERN describes it as a symbolic representation of the cosmic dance of subatomic particles.

This has not prevented online researchers from concluding that a world-class particle physics laboratory placed a statue of the cosmic dancer outside because it was obviously preparing to open a doorway into another dimension.

In a short statement after the shutdown, CERN management confirmed that “no portals remained open following the conclusion of Run 3” and added that “all portals, gateways, folds, tears, transitional membranes, accidental corridors, non-Euclidean access points, angelic and demonic gates and other temporary spatial misunderstandings had been closed in accordance with standard procedures.”

The clarification did little to calm independent researchers, many of whom immediately demanded to know why CERN had not also published a list of all dimensions briefly accessed, all entities asked to leave, and all researchers whose pupils had reflected stars that were not visible from Earth.

Several users called for Tucker Carlson to investigate whether the shutdown was really an upgrade, a cover-up, or simply another example of the global elite refusing to answer basic questions such as “why does a physics laboratory need magnets this big”.”

David Icke-adjacent commentators were less restrained. Several argued that CERN’s decision to increase luminosity only made sense once one understood that the lighting requirements of the reptilian population now using the LHC tunnels as a permanent transit corridor correlate directly with the operational strength of Israeli space lasers.

The Vatican had not issued any statement on the matter by publication time.

The spokesperson rejected rumours that several researchers had been reassigned to “reality stabilisation,” explaining that this was not an official department name and that the correct internal term was “accelerator operations support.
