EU’s Moral Values - Sanctioning a Handful of Israeli Settlers While Pumping Billions into Palestinian Terror Salaries

Brussels, May 29, 2026 - Yesterday the European External Action Service proudly announced sanctions on four Israeli settler organizations (Nachala, Regavim, Hashomer Yosh, Amana) and three individuals. Asset freezes, funding bans, travel restrictions - the full Brussels toolkit.

EU’s Moral Values - Sanctioning a Handful of Israeli Settlers While Pumping Billions into Palestinian Terror Salaries

All because these groups dare to hold the “wrong” views on land the EU has decided isn’t Jewish enough.

Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar called it “arbitrary and political,”, Prime Minister Netanyahu’s office labeled it “moral bankruptcy” for creating a “false symmetry between Israeli citizens and Hamas terrorists.”

National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir was more direct: "the EU is trying to “tie the hands of those who defend themselves” while the real enemies keep slaughtering".

Meanwhile, European taxpayer money is flowing like cheap Chianti into the Palestinian pay-for-slay machine. Three massive pipelines, all wide open:

  1. €620 million in direct budget support (part of a €1.6 billion EU package to the Palestinian Authority (PA) for 2025–2027) via the PEGASE mechanism. This is the cash that pays PA salaries, keeps Ramallah’s lights on, and conveniently frees up PA funds for… other priorities.
  2. Tens of millions to UNRWA - including a fresh €23 million “humanitarian” installment in 2025 alone. This is the UN agency whose schools teach kids that Jews are the enemy and whose facilities have a funny habit of storing Hamas rockets.
  3. Hundreds of millions in separate “humanitarian and resilience” aid to Gaza and the West Bank - over €220 million in 2025 and counting, subsidizing an authority that still rewards murder.

Yes, the same PA whose “Martyrs Fund” (official euphemism for terror stipends) handed out roughly $156 million in 2025 to the families of terrorists - with bigger payouts for bigger body counts.

The EU admitted late last year that payments were still slipping through “bypass channels,” offered a polite “profound regret,” and then kept the billions flowing. No sanctions on the PA, no frozen aid.

While the EU lectures and sanctions, it’s Israeli taxpayers who are quietly keeping the lights on and the taps running for the Palestinians.

Israel’s national electric company (IEC) supplies the vast majority of electricity to the West Bank, and when the PA piles up hundreds of millions in unpaid bills (once again nearing $550 million), Israel simply deducts it from the tax money it collects on the PA’s behalf.

Same story with water - Mekorot, Israel’s water company, provides a huge share of the water Palestinians consume, often at subsidized rates funded by Israeli pockets.

The EU loves to bash Israel for “undermining peace,” but somehow never asks the obvious question: Why is the PA not paying for these basic resources from the billions of euros the EU keeps sending them, and what is the money used for?

Brilliant work, Brussels. Truly.
