Iran enters the US midterms: “The world will be amazed”

Over the past week, Iranian officials have warned that if the United States resumes hostilities, the murderous Tehran regime will expand its targets to include undersea internet cables beneath the Strait of Hormuz, artificial intelligence data centers, and regional oil and gas infrastructure. The message was delivered in the most theatrical way available to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps - “the world will be amazed.”

Donald Trump is under mounting pressure to declare victory in a war that remains deeply unpopular at home. Republicans are bracing for backlash ahead of the November 3 midterm elections.

Iran appears to be betting it can exploit that bind: make war look so costly, so messy that Trump chooses the midterms over escalation.

“We have new targets that have not yet been attacked,” Mohebbi said late last month. “The war is not over,” he added. “The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has prepared itself for a long-term war.”

Iran appears to be counting on that uncertainty. Ali Vaez, deputy program director for the Middle East and North Africa at the International Crisis Group, told CNN that Tehran wants to convince Washington the next round would be “fought on a much wider battlefield, with fewer restraints and potentially more lethal consequences.”

Luckily, behind the scenes in Washington, the military is getting ready. CNN reported on October 15 that US planners have developed new strike options against Iran that include the potential use of the GBU-43/B Massive Ordnance Air Blast—nicknamed the “mother of all bombs,” the largest non-nuclear weapon in the US arsenal—targeted at Iranian energy infrastructure and nuclear sites, including the suspected underground facility at Pickaxe Mountain.

Trump called it "like a tiny nuclear bomb" on Newsmax, then immediately said he wouldn't use nuclear weapons because "we don't have to." This is the kind of reasoning that wins elections

The world is prepared to be amazed what the Iranians, sorry, Persians do with their country once they get rid of the mullahs.
