Trump Cancels Iran War Again. War Expected to Resume After Brief Commercial Break
President Trump has once again cancelled a planned attack on Iran, citing progress toward negotiations and the outlines of a possible agreement.
The Iran war has therefore been paused until further notice.
Trump said talks would begin Monday after Gulf governments urged him to delay the strikes and give diplomacy another chance. The proposed deal would involve reopening the Strait of Hormuz and addressing Iran’s nuclear programme.
This is not the first time the conflict has reached its season finale.
Oil markets welcomed the announcement, because investors remain touchingly willing to treat each new Iran ceasefire as a distinct event rather than the latest repetition of a running gag.
Normal programming will resume shortly.
